Karela Ginger Detox Juice (Kāravellaka-Ārdraka Svarasa)
A traditional bitter-pungent juice designed to support metabolic function and balance Kapha and Pitta during seasonal transitions.
This potent, bitter-pungent infusion is a traditional preparation designed to stimulate Agni and support metabolic clarity. By combining the cooling, bitter qualities of Karela (bitter gourd) with the warming, digestive-enhancing properties of fresh ginger and black pepper, this juice serves as a therapeutic beverage for balancing Kapha and Pitta excess. It is particularly valued during the transition seasons of Vasant (Spring) and Sharad (Autumn) when the body requires gentle purification and support for the digestive channels. In accordance with Ayurvedic principles, the addition of warming spices like Marica (black pepper) and Haridra (turmeric) serves to mitigate the extreme coldness of the bitter gourd, ensuring the preparation remains supportive of the digestive fire (Agni) rather than suppressing it. This juice is intended for short-term use as a supportive dietary adjunct, focusing on the reduction of heavy, stagnant qualities in the body.
